Countertenor Max Riebl has performed in Australia, Europe and the UK with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, La Cetra Baroque Orchestra, the London Handel Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic and Orchestra Victoria.
As a soloist, he has performed in Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, Recital Centre and Forum, Sydney’s Recital Centre, the Vienna Musikverein and Konzerthaus and London’s Royal Albert Hall. He studied baroque performance at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Gerd Türk and currently coaches with Dermot Tutty.
Max's performance repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Giulio Cesare and Dixit Dominus, John Blow’s Venus and Adonis, Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bach’s Johannes and Mattheus Passion, Magnificat and B-minor Mass, Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater, Beatus Vir, Dixit Dominus and Nisi Dominus, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri and Pergolesi’s Salve Regina and Stabat Mater.
He has received top prizes in national and international vocal competitions, including the Herald Sun Aria, IFAC Australian Singing Competition, the London Handel Competition, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Arias and Chicago’s Classical Singer Competition.
